Enable Telegram Business Mode
Business Mode is Telegram’s route for private DMs to your personal Telegram account. With it, @myteasebot can process and answer the chats you allow through Telegram Business settings, while your team keeps control from the tease.bot Inbox.
You only need Business Mode if fans message your personal Telegram account. If your audience primarily talks through a channel or bot flow, start with Connect Telegram to @myteasebot instead.
What Business Mode changes
Section titled “What Business Mode changes”Without Business Mode, tease.bot handles the Telegram surfaces you connected directly, such as channel flows. With Business Mode, Telegram also lets @myteasebot work inside selected private DMs to your account.
Telegram describes Business chatbots as bots that can process and answer messages on behalf of a business account. You choose which chats the bot can access inside Telegram’s own settings.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A connected tease.bot workspace.
- Your Telegram account on mobile, desktop, or web.
- Access to Settings -> Telegram Business in Telegram.
- About 3 minutes.
Telegram controls availability by account, app version, region, and its own product rules. If you do not see Telegram Business, update Telegram first, then check Telegram’s own support resources.
1. Open Telegram Business
Section titled “1. Open Telegram Business”In Telegram, open Settings -> Telegram Business.
If the menu is missing, the account cannot enable this route right now. Use the channel connection instead and come back to Business Mode later.
2. Add @myteasebot as the chatbot
Section titled “2. Add @myteasebot as the chatbot”Inside Telegram Business, open Chatbots. Add @myteasebot.
Telegram asks which chats the bot can access. Choose the narrowest setting that matches how you operate:
- All private chats, if you want the AI assistant to cover every fan DM.
- New chats only, if you only want help with fresh inbound messages.
- A filtered set, if you keep friends, family, or team chats on the same account.
Save the settings.
3. Verify in tease.bot
Section titled “3. Verify in tease.bot”Back in tease.bot, open Settings -> Bot Setup -> Business Mode and click Verify connection.
The status should turn green within about 30 seconds. If it stays amber, refresh once and verify that the Telegram account added @myteasebot, not another bot.
4. Test from another account
Section titled “4. Test from another account”Ask a teammate or another Telegram account you control to DM your personal Telegram account. Open Inbox in tease.bot and watch the conversation appear.
If the reply should be manual for this fan, open the thread and switch it to Manual before responding. You can switch it back to AI when you are done.
Turning it off
Section titled “Turning it off”In Telegram, open Telegram Business -> Chatbots and remove @myteasebot. tease.bot keeps the fan records and message history it already has, but stops handling new Business Mode DMs for that account.
- Business Mode is for private DMs, not channel posts or groups.
- Channel flows still use the channel connection in Settings -> Bot Setup.
- You can pause the AI assistant for one thread from Inbox, or pause all AI replies from Settings -> Bot status.
- Manual replies are part of the same thread history, so the AI assistant can continue from the latest context when you hand the conversation back.
